I like Firelands because it’s small enough that you get to know the other physicians and healthcare team members very well. I appreciate the communication between primary care physicians and specialists. Firelands has an excellent network of resources for patients. I enjoy working with the other physicians and staff at the Sandusky Healthcare Center. We have a great team. My husband, young daughter, and I enjoy the lake, and we like the snow, too. I also camp, kayak, and paddleboard in my free time. I always wanted a career in medicine and was fortunate enough to achieve that goal. I’m interested in science, and I enjoy helping people. My mother was a psychiatrist, so I was familiar with the medical field. I grew up in the greater Toledo area and went to The Ohio State University for my undergraduate degree. I went to medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania, and completed my residency in family medicine at University Hospitals St. John Medical Center in Westlake, Ohio. I chose family medicine because I enjoy the long-term relationships established with patients. I like getting to know them, their families, and what they do in their lives. That’s what I like best about family medicine. I feel the most fulfilled when I can positively impact someone’s overall health. I also enjoy working with a broad spectrum of patients, from newborns to older adults.
